"Be the change you wish to see in the world"
- Gandhi
I graduated from Western Michigan University in 2010 with a BA in International Studies and a Minor in Arabic. Most of my work focused on the Middle East and Indo-Asia. I started working with English Language Learners at Western then at Portage Adult ESL where I learned that Portage Central High School needed an ELL instructor. I worked as an ELL instructor there for 7 years, part of that time also going back to school.
I decided to get a Secondary Education Teaching Certification because I loved my job as an ELL instructor. I am certified to teach History and English. I hope to someday get a Masters in TESOL (Teaching English to Students of Other Languages).
About Ms. Kay
I am an avid reader and writer. I love to dance, crochet, and play with my two cats, Lufa and Mowgli. Your students will probably tell you at some point that I have lots of tattoos and they would be right (most of them are the same theme as this website). I am also an avid prepper, and hope my students too will become prepared for the wider world.
